mount lawley natural spring

This garden represented a wonderful and rare opportunity for us. A natural spring which burst forth from the ground in suburban Mt Lawley. In this garden design we utilised the water coming naturally from the ground and recirculated it using a pump immersed in a lower pond to give the naturally occurring stream’s pathway a supplemented level of flow. We then layered the stream with a selection of donnybrook stone and river stones to give the feature the appearance of a natural creek with a meandering flowing form as well as surrounding the stream with reeds and water-loving plants. Within weeks we had attracted a lovely chorus of frogs to the stream.

The pump was also connected to a solenoid and reticulation controller which then pumped some of the spring water onto the rest of the garden to irrigate other parts of the garden once every few days and negate the need for the use of mains water.
