fremantle japanese style gardenThe primary point of departure for this garden space was the desire to create outdoor rooms which would provide enjoyable functional areas for the clients. I would describe the garden as an eclectic mix of natural materials combined with a Japanese contemporary design aesthetic. Concrete was selected for durability and beauty as it allows for a selection of different stones to be incorporated and has a minimalist clean feel. Granite was used extensively to provide a kind of dry wall retaining bed combined with a granite bench. The plants used were succulents suitable for rockeries and more lush plants such as monstera deliciosa and philodendrons were selected for the underplanting of the oriental plane trees.
